A spring day in the depths of winter.

The hounds have more of a bounce than normal in their step.  The thermometer hovers in the high 60's before topping out at 71.  Too warm for this time of year, and as a result, one day later, Old Man Winter is roaring back as I type.  A very blustery day, 48 now dropping into the low 30's by sunset.

Our National Symbol

It is a miracle of conservation that we now have so many magnificent eagles in our area.  They seem to thrive in the Potomac and Chesapeake region, and rarely a day passes without a glimpse of this stunning bird in flight.

Or a mated pair.

Inauguration Day 2013. A new beginning.

Really bright January day.  The hunt is at Mt. Victoria today.  It is Inauguration Day.  New beginnings.  A clean slate.  A chance, just a chance to start fresh.  How many opportunities will we be given?

New Year at Cremona.

Clear blue skies and a slight westerly breeze.  Away went the hounds, staff, and the rest of the hunt.  But one lost her seat, and a broken arm.  So, must watch the rest of the season as a hilltopper.

The twists and turns of life.  Thank goodness, that was all.
